I like this stand, but it just doesn’t feel as sturdy as I would like it to. Don’t get me wrong it always works, but I just doesn’t quite feel right. You know what I mean? Anyway, I don’t use it as much as I thought that I would, but when I do, it is pretty useful. Overall, a good product.

The kickstand folding electronics stand is a happy accident. Through no fault of the designers or the people who manufactured and marketed it, it is *by far* the best ipad stand I have ever seen.
Originally intended to hold small laptops and notebooks on tables for better cooling and viewing angles, the Kickstand is a portable adjustable stand that unfolds from something you could put in your back pocket into a tripod that holds an ipad, in either the vertical or the horizontal orientation, at any one of several different viewing angles and with remarkable stability.
Although never intended for use with the iPad, the kickstand uses the iPad’s own weight for stability. The user can perform all the iPad’s touch-screen functions with confidence that the device isn’t going to slip off the stand and hit the table. In fact, the kickstand’s positioning of the ipad is so stable that in most of the angles available to you, you can confidently use all the ipad’s controls; that is, the home button, orientation lock, on- and off- button and volume rocker one handed without having to use your other hand to stabilize the device.
At some of the deeper angles the kickstand provides, I’ve swiped my finger on the screen with heavy pressure that the stand took without a murmur or a slip. In fact, with it’s telescoping legs extended, the kickstand can be even more stable.
In case *that* isn’t enough, there’s a kicker. The Kickstand is not only stable, it allows the user access to the iPad’s power connector in any orientation so you can use it plugged in, making its picture-frame function a great way to view those NASA, ‘image-of-the-day’ shots or watching yet another episode of Mythbusters while the device its charging.
The kickstand is good, but nothing is perfect. Its plastic-on-metal construction is certainly sturdy enough to hold *my* iPad, but it doesn’t feel like anything you could run a truck over. This is, of course, a meaningless quibble: an iPad weighs a pound and a half and the manufacturer claims the kickstand is rated to support devices that weigh more than ten pounds.
Summing up, it’s hard to do the kickstand justice as an iPad stand because it isn’t one. It was designed for a netbook/notebook market that saw no real use for it and they are available all over the internet, at firesale prices–often at less than half the price of comparable stands that are far less flexible like the Griffin Technologies A-Frame–but it is, quite accidentally, a nearly perfect iPad stand.
It’s so good for the price you’re paying, you feel like you’re stealing it: you almost want to buy a second one before the people selling it wise-up and start another production run.

There is much discussion about supporting the extra weight of the Kindle DXG and finding the right support out there. Well gang (fellow Kindlers) this is it for the table top, bed tray or any stable flat surface. Very well made, smooth simple operation, sturdy and has great eye and hand feel. It is small, light weight and easy to pack out when you are on the go. I love this thing and was the perfect pick for me. This product is truly a 5 Star for fit, form, function and finish!!
OMG, Even the packaging this little guy comes in is great, with a lot of thought and eye appeal, and over 70% recyclable materials used or built in!! This manufacture pays close attention to every detail and has my appreciation for a great product and idea too!!

Exactly what i was hoping to find . . . a lightweight, portable stand that’d hold my iPad at a perfect angle. Actually, the stand allows you to adjust the viewing angle. That’s a really nice feature.
The stand is (in my opinion) good-looking (a bonus.) and it’s very well-made.
Love it.

I received this device sometime around June 2nd (2010), so I’ve had it for almost a month now. This device is very handy to just prop up my iPad next my desktop while it plays videos/music. It’s very helpful while reading a magazine or news article and I don’t have to hold onto it for hours on end. It leaves the rest of my hands to do other things and not cramp up while holding the iPad. I have a bluetooth keyboard that I used with my iPad, and it makes typing a breeze to see it up-right rather than having to stare down onto it. I can prop the iPad in portrait or in landscape with the USB cable attached without it being a problem.
It’s more than just an iPad holder, I’ve also used it to prop up my 17″ MacBook Pro, making it easier to reach the keys (for me at least) and to give it more air flow as this beast heats up. Used it to hold up non-digital magazines for easier reading (have to pick it up the mag while flipping the pages, but that’s okay).
It’s quite flexible, capable of holding most laptops as described. It comes with a carrying cloth that you can use for traveling. It folds up nicely, and fits into my bag along with my iPad with no problems. It’s a great carry-on.
Between this product and the Griffin A-Frame Tabletop Stand, I picked this Foldable Stand. I like its ease of portability, and its flexibility to be used with other devices besides the iPad, not to mention the price on this is worth it. I’m considering on getting a 2nd one for travel use.
