@Marksy72 I’ve got a solution. Make sure your iphone is on 3.1.2 (3.1.3, etc. NOT on 4.0) (if its not, downgrade) Then, plug it into your computer, (make sure the iphone is not in “restore” mode. Or DFU.) In iTunes, you’ll see – “RESTORE” and “UPDATE”. Put in a AT&T card in the sim card tray, and “SHIFT” (or ALT/OPTION for mac) Choose 4.0 and there you go! I got a 3GS and this method worked for me, iTunes doesnt ask you to register and the phone isn’t locked. send me a message if it worked!

@darth2499 Open the firmware file and you delete a certain two sentences and then it’s activated and ready to install!
